You can also participate in the many activities organized by the <strong>Consorzio Arenili di Caorle<\/strong>.\r\nAt the ends of the eastern and western beaches, there are areas reserved for four-legged friends. Inside there is a Golden <strong>Altarpiece<\/strong> of the thirteenth century.\r\nYou can visit the <strong>Liturgical Museum<\/strong> located next to the cathedral or climb the bell tower, unique in its kind for the particular conical spire and always a symbol of Caorle. The small church overlooking the sea preserves an ancient wooden statue of the <strong>Madonna and Child<\/strong>, to which the fishermen of Caorle are very devoted.\r\nLegend has it that the statue floated off the cliff of Caorle on a marble pedestal, without sinking, and that only children had managed to bring it to shore. According to popular tradition, the presence of the sculpture also prevented the sanctuary from flooding during the violent storm of 1727.\r\nEvery five years in Caorle, there is the <strong>procession of the Madonna dell'Angelo<\/strong>. The statue is transported by sea on board a <strong>Caorlina<\/strong>, the rowing boat typical of the Venetian lagoon.
